HOW TO MAKE A Smokey Spicy Margarita

The classic for heat lovers. Mescal-based instead of my usual go to reposado tequila.

  • Smoky, spicy & tart

  • Tastes like a tire fire… in the best way possible

Sips

  • Mescal takes the place of tequila in this drink to give it the smoke flavor which pairs well with the heat we are giving it.

  • Add Tajin to half of the glass so you have the option to drink with or without as you enjoy the cocktail (and it adds a nice red color pop to your cocktail)

Tips

  1. Cut a lime in half and rub along one side of the glass. (From the rim to about a third of the way down the side)

  2. Roll the lime side of the glass in tajin and set the glass aside

  3. In a tin, muddle 2-3 slices of jalapeño depending on your desired heat level.

  4. Then in a separate shaking tin, pour in 2 oz. of mescal, 1 oz. orange Curaçao, 1 oz. of fresh lime juice & 1/4 oz. of Agave

  5. Add ice and shake your tin to chill and slightly dilute.

  6. Double strain (to ensure to catch the jalapeño bits) into glass with ice.

  7. Garnish with lime wheel.

  8. Enjoy the heat!
