I'm mixing up the best Wisconsin old fashioned! Of course in Wisconsin it's just called an old fashioned, but if you've had one, you know it's very different from a classic old fashioned. This drink is special to me because it reminds me of home. Highly customizable, there's a version of this cocktail for every drinker out there. You choose the level of sweetness and the garnish (anything from fruit to pickled vegetables!). I owe my personal philosophy of cocktails to this drink. I believe we should all drink what we like, and this is what I like.

The Best Wisconsin Old Fashioned Recipe

  • Goes down easy.

  • Crushed ice gives it a “Tiki” feel

  • Not too sweet but if you want to dial up the sweetness you can!

Sips

  • If you order this out at the bar make sure you give them these directions otherwise it may be a bit thrown together and too sweet.

  • When muddling try not to muddle the orange rinds or it may introduce bitterness.
